Conversion is the true account of a young psychologist practicing conversion therapy, who has a chance encounter with an activist – an encounter that changed his practice, and the world. Director Gregory Caruso invited our team to bring elements of this story to life where archival footage wasn’t available. Sean’s instinct was to go to the source: psychology book covers of the 1960’s and 70’s, where lively abstraction reigned supreme. The team delivered over 40 pieces of animation, titles, and dozens of visual treatments of photos and magazine pages to support Gregory’s unique vision for the film.
